Vague headache: Night teeth clenching

Many healthy people complain of persistent vague headache. They usually do not suffer from any medical problem but only a thorough history and meticulous oral examination reveals that they are in the habit of grinding teeth (Bruxism). The individual clenches his/her jaws and grinds teeth while sleeping or awake but many times not aware of the teeth grinding practice. Such patients exert enormous amount of force on the teeth during jaw clenching which create problems for the teeth and jaws.  Mild Bruxism remains unnoticed and does not cause serious problems but severe bruxism may lead to Tension headaches along with damage to natural teeth, restorations in the teeth and jaw joint.
